- April 23, 2003: An recomendation to introduce Boot camps for juveniles in Denmark [1]
- November 10, 2006: A single continuation school lost about 33% of its students. The director complained the fact that most teenagers don't realize that the continuation schools which have a cultural background as Reform schools mean living with a "cell-mate" in the same toom all day long [2]
- May 29, 2007: Lack of education do often result in use of force against youth [3]
- June 1, 2007: Children molest children. At least every 14 days a child is sexual molested by another child placed in a facility. 71 known cases were reported in 2006. 13 percent of the children, who had been molested had received some kind for payment for their services [4]
- June 21, 2007: Riot at Sofiedal near the town of Tinglev [5]. The 6 staff members could not prevent the 12 to 14 teenagers between 14 and 17 years of age from trashing the place. The police were called in and the teenagers were returned the facility after spending a night in police custody.
- August 6, 2007: Our secure facilities are a disgrace (From the Danish Radio Station DR - in Danish). The chairman of the Danish Social Education Worker on Sealand - Jan Vium criticizes the standard at Stevnsfortet and Bakkegaarden - two of our secure facilities [6]
- February 24, 2008: "Send criminal youth to the contination schools". Hanne Bjerregaard urges the contination schools to take increased social responsability. Too many at-risk youth are sent to special facilities instead of the normal punishment for youth - the contination schools. That makes it too expensive for the society and it does not benefit the children. [7]
- May 23, 2008: Some months ago parents and students at some public school protested due to declined of the standard in public school. Over the year increased budgetcuts have meant poor study material. Some maps do even have a divided Germany on. Two students aged 12 and 13 were called into an hour-long interview involving threats about their involvement in the protests. This interview was done without the children being able to inform their parents, which is normal if underaged are suspected to have partipated in criminal acitivities, but the children did not receive this counseling in this case [8].
- June 1, 2008: A 17 year old boy is suspected of rape of a 10 year old boy. They were both placed at unnamed facility near the town of Middelfart [9]. It is not clear whether the 17 old are able to be charged.
- July 7, 2008: Related to the critic of the companies surrunding the facilities founded by Soren Lynge - creater of dreamcenter.dk it was releaved that the oversight of the facilities in Denmark has been cut by 30%. Politicians calls for a central committee to secure the safety of the detained teenagers in Denmark [10].
- January 26, 2009: Parents, who have immigrated to Denmark and have little understanding for the highly developed Danish youth culture are seeking strict orthodox Christian Continuation school [11]. The number of teenagers placed at these school seemed to have been increased since the Danish government took action against re-education stays in the originally homeland. For a number of years the association of Continuation Schools have tried to target this parentgroup with an offer to detain their children and keep them "safe" from the challenging parts of the normal youth culture [12].
- May 16, 2009: There are positive news regarding the Continuation Schools. Higher prices will properly rescue many teenagers from being banished from their home [13]
- May 30, 2009: Former clients of the child welfare system demands an apology from the governments over missing regulation and control of the group homes [14]
- June 10, 2009: Just one boy costs 6 million DKK in placement costs per year [15]
- September 22, 2009: A report revealed that children who have been placed outside the home at boarding schools, group homes or in foster care have a greater chance to end up in jail as adult [16]
- October 4, 2009: The government announce that they intend to lower the age of criminal responsibility to 14 years [17]
- October 12, 2009: An essay published in the newspaper Information state that the age of criminal responsibility doesn't matter. The present system turns at-risk youth into criminal and it has been so for at least 100 years [18]
- November 2, 2009: From Jutland it is reported that an increasing number of parents are ready to give up parenting before time because they can not handle their kids [19]
