Charity Haven Christian Academy was a facility, which is under investigation of being using the concept of Roloff Homes.

It was located on 605 Glover Lane, Milton, Florida 32570.

They detained girls aged between 12 and 17. The capacity was 12 girls, which were detained at the facility for almost a year. The program was founded in the early 1990's. Directors are named to be Dave and Norma Walkden.

It was closed down sometime after 2004 [2][3].

One reporter who got involved and helped close a facility called Charity Haven, near Milton, Florida reported: "What bothered me the most was reading a police report which stated that two girls were seen running naked down the center of a highway, crying that (their custodial parent) was after them and would kill them if he caught them. A good Samaritan picked the girls up and drove them to the police station. A report was filed and the teens were then returned to the facility."

Program structure

Education

The facility used the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) workbook curriculum provided by School of Tomorrow [4]. School of Tomorrow requries that just one person in an entire school be "certified" to use the curriculum. This certification is NOT from any state agency. It is issued by School of Tomorrow. This enables schools to use the curriculum without having any certified teachers by the State

Misc.

One of the former detainees - Kimberly Conceicao - is now running a referral business.
