Falcon Ridge Ranch is a behavior modification facility located east of Virgin, Utah [1].

The program can detain girls aged between 12 and 18 for an average of 9 - 12 months [2]

It was founded in 2003.

Program structure

Communication

Phone: During the first 21 to 30 days after being detained, there is only communication between parent and staff. After this period phonecalls every second week is allowed. These calls are monitored because a staff member mentioned to be a therapist are present during the call.

Visits: The parents can attend family weekends six times a year, but first when the child has been detained at least for 30 days. During the first visit the child are not allowed off the campus during the family weekend. On the second visit off-campus visits are allowed but no overnight. On the third visit both overnight and off-campus visits are allowed.

Education

The homepage of the program mentions certified teachers but a thread on the myspace group of survivors mentions problem with getting the education acreditted elsewhere [3].
