Magnolia Hills Christian school is the new name for Carolina Springs Academy. According to Coalition Against Institutionalized Child Abuse (CAICA) South Carolina's Department of Social Services, Group Home Licensing has confirmed that Carolina Springs Academy's license has been revoked [1]

The current status of the facility is unknown as of September 2010. Reports from animal rights organizations are that the campus is empty.

September 2010 there were reports from a animal rights organization that animals were found dead or neglected at the abandoned campus [2]

February 2011 the project manager of the maybe future boarding school expressed doubt whether the project may be concluded [3]
