New Hope Academy was a behavior modification facility located on the island of Aipa, Samoa.

Among the partners of the facility were:

  • Norm Cluff of Orem, Utah,
  • Utah businessman Dan Wakefield
  • Mekeli Ieremia, a popular former Brigham Young University football player.
    He was later sentenced to 10 years in prison for theft of $4.7 million from a Texas school district [1]

In the news

The program closed down in 1999 leaving 5 teenagers hungry and abandoned on the Island [2]
