Penrith Farms is a boarding school environment located near Newport in the state of Washington [1]

The program last between 6 and 12 months [2]

Because the target group is young adults aged between 18 and 26, it is a voluntary program

Program structure

Beside individual and group therapy the residents partipate in various vocational training opportunities. Among the activitices offered are organic gardening program, wood shop, automotive and small engine shop, construction, culinary skills and animal husbandry.

Living standards

They have 3 dorms. Two for males called "P2" and "Drake". The dorm for the female residents is called "Hilton".


They work together with the local Newport High School which the young adults can attend, but they also offer a self-paced program. Those who don't want to take a High School degree can take a GED through a department of Spokane Community College, which also offers college courses.
