Sarge's Community Based Training is an organization located in Pasadena focusing on adjusting the behavior by so-called at-risk youths.

They run a number of programs

  • They have a boot camp called Commit II Achieve [1]
  • They host parents classes using the Parent Project curriculum [2]
  • They host fitness events by local schools [3]
  • They manage a child - mentor program [4]

In relationship with the arrest of one of their competitors the director gave an interview [5] promoting his own program. He claims that he is victim of mistaken identity [6]

October 2011 at video was published on the webpage of a local newspaper where the voice of the boot camp manager can be heard. According to Child abuse legal expert and USC Gould School of Law Professor Thomas Lyons who did not view the videos the behavior described on them could easily fit the broad definition of child abuse [7].

Based on the evidence presented in the videos, the police started a probe into the matter [8]
