Sofiedal is a group home in Denmark located in the hamlet of Tinglev [1]


  • In 2001 it was reported that they created a branch on the campus of the group home for just one kid, who was placed outside the local community at a cost of DKK 1,500,000 per year [2]
  • March 2004 a 14 year old boy stole a car from the campus and drove into town [3]
  • June 2007 a riot at Sofiedal near the town of Tinglev took place [4]. The 6 staff members could not prevent the 12 to 14 teenagers between 14 and 17 years of age from trashing the place. The police were called in and the teenagers were returned the facility after spending a night in police custody.
