Star Ranch was a boarding for at-risk teenagers. It closed in 2005 after a death occured at the facility. It was located near Ingram in Texas [2]

The residential part of the faclity lost its license due to deaths of two boys ("Mikie" Garcia and Lenny Ortega) at the facility [3]

In the news

The owners founded the summer camp Charis Hills. Worried citizens are campaigning against the existence of the camp due to its prior history [4]. In the end they moved the summer camp to its present location near Bowie.
